Our charity shops

UNITY SHOPS

Finding a new home for your old loved items!

Unity in the Community (registered charity in Scotland SCO40466) was set up to extend the support we provide for asylum seekers in Glasgow. In July 2009 we opened the first charity shop in Govan selling clothes, toys, small household goods, books, videos and CDs.

Now there are two shops often referred to as the Red Shop and the Blue Shop, and also a Book Shop selling books, videos, CDs, DVDs, LPs, and more. Money raised by the charity is used to fund our many different projects.

IF YOU’D LIKE TO VOLUNTEER IN ONE OF OUR CHARITY SHOPS PLEASE SEE THIS PAGE

Unity in the Community is a separate organisation from the Unity Centre and is mainly focused on providing welfare services, where possible, for asylum seekers and other people in need in Glasgow. If you would like to take advantage of our free clothing service click here for more information.

Image0042UNITY in the Community depends almost entirely on funds raised from the sale of clothes and small household items from our three charity shops in Govan and Ibrox. We do not receive any government funding and are dependent entirely on donations from supporters and what we raise in our shops.

Money raised in these charity shops goes towards supporting food and clothing distribution projects aimed at destitute asylum seekers as well as FREE English classes.
